Know who is coaching your athlete.

Rob Erickson founded Tenacity Sports Performance to give young athletes qualified instruction, honest feedback, and training built around the individual—not a collection of random drills. He has coached youth athletes since 2010 and remains the direct contact for every family.

The standard behind Tenacity

Teach clearly. Correct honestly. Build the athlete.

Coach Rob’s approach combines high standards with age-appropriate teaching. Athletes should understand what they are doing, why it matters, and what they need to improve. Technology can help identify the priority, but the value comes from turning that evidence into better coaching and a plan the athlete can execute.

Coach Rob is also the author of three youth-sports books covering athlete nutrition, parent support, and standards-based coaching. View the books in the Tenacity shop.

Parents are not passed to a sales desk. Coach Rob reviews training requests, confirms the best fit, communicates schedule and location details, and explains what the athlete will work on before payment.

Qualifications and safety

Credentials parents can ask about directly.

Certifications are listed separately so families can understand what each one represents. Tenacity confirms current screening status without publishing confidential screening records.

Florida Level 2 background screening

Fingerprint-based state and national criminal-history checks.

Coach Rob has completed a Level 2 background screening through the State of Florida. That screening is fingerprint-based and includes Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and FBI criminal-history checks. Written confirmation of current status is available to a parent or guardian on request before enrollment. Screening results themselves are confidential and are not posted online.

What the first session looks like

The athlete is observed before the plan is assumed.

The exact session changes by service, but the coaching process stays consistent.

01

Quick conversation

Coach Rob confirms the athlete’s sport, experience, goals, recent challenges, and what the family wants to understand.

02

Movement observation

The athlete completes an age-appropriate warm-up and selected movements so coaching starts from what is actually happening.

03

Direct instruction

The athlete receives clear cues, purposeful repetitions, and corrections tied to mechanics, confidence, or sport movement.

04

Family next step

Coach Rob explains the priority, the recommended path, and what the athlete should train next—without pressure to buy the wrong option.

Sport and position specialists

Guest coaches add expertise—not confusion.

Tenacity may bring in qualified guest coaches for sport- or position-specific sessions when their experience directly benefits the athletes. Families are told who is coaching, what that coach’s role is, and what the session will cover. Coach Rob remains the family’s Tenacity contact and the training plan stays aligned with Tenacity’s safety, instruction, and communication standards.

Screening rule: Any guest coach who works directly with athletes is required to complete the same Florida Level 2 background screening before coaching.

Guest coaches are used only when appropriate and are not guaranteed for every program or clinic.
