Running & Sprint Mechanics Analysis · Ages 7–17
Stop Guessing. Start Measuring Movement
Tenacity builds the analysis around your athlete’s age, sport, running demands, and goal. Laser timing gates measure performance. Multiple high-speed camera angles capture how the athlete moves. Slow-motion review and joint-mechanics overlays reveal the positions and patterns behind the result. Then Coach Rob turns the evidence into clear training priorities.

Built around the athlete

Built around the athlete
The 40-yard test is an option—not the definition of the service.
A football athlete working on first-step acceleration, a soccer player who needs efficient repeated runs, and an athlete trying to improve upright sprint mechanics should not automatically receive the same test. Tenacity selects the distances, timed splits, camera positions, and mechanics checkpoints that best answer the athlete’s actual question. A 40-yard sprint can be used when it fits the sport and goal, but the analysis is not limited to one distance.
A testing protocol selected for the athlete’s age, sport, and goal
Laser-timed distances and phase splits that match the purpose of the test
Multiple high-speed camera angles instead of one incomplete view
Slow-motion review with 2D joint-position and alignment overlays
A written report connecting the data to specific corrections and drills
Where Tenacity is different
We connect time, video, and joint position.
A stopwatch gives one result. A single video gives one perspective. Tenacity combines objective timing with multiple viewpoints and coach-led mechanics review so families can see both what happened and why it happened.
01
Laser timing gates
Electronic gates measure the selected distances and splits without relying on a handheld stopwatch. The numbers show where acceleration builds, where speed changes, and whether attempts are repeatable.
02
Multiple camera angles
Side, front, rear, and angled views are used as needed to capture details one camera can miss—posture, arm path, hip position, knee action, foot placement, balance, and left-to-right differences.
03
Joint-mechanics overlays
Key frames can be marked with 2D lines and joint-position references to make body lean, shin angle, hip-knee-ankle alignment, touchdown position, and posture easier for athletes and parents to understand.
04
Coach interpretation
Technology doesn't replace what we do. We connect the timing and video, cut through the noise, and pinpoint the exact adjustments that will drive real progress for this athlete.
What we examine
Running and sprinting are reviewed phase by phase.
The exact checkpoints depend on the athlete, but every analysis looks for the mechanical patterns that support speed, efficiency, control, and repeatability.
01
Start & acceleration
Reviews setup, first movement, projection, shin angles, force direction, step rhythm, and how effectively the athlete builds speed through the opening steps.
02
Upright sprint mechanics
Examines posture, arm action, front-side mechanics, hip position, knee recovery, foot strike relative to the body, ground-contact rhythm, and the ability to sprint without unnecessary braking.
03
Running rhythm & efficiency
Looks for overstriding, excessive vertical movement, collapsing posture, crossover patterns, uneven timing, limited coordination, and other habits that can waste motion or reduce consistency.
04
Sport transfer & repeatability
Connects the findings to the distances, speeds, positions, and repeated efforts the athlete faces in competition, then establishes a protocol that can be repeated during retesting.
What you receive
A report you can understand—and actually use.
The completed report translates timing-gate data, multi-angle video, and mechanics overlays into direct coaching language. Parents and athletes can see what is already working, what is limiting performance, and exactly what should be trained next.
Selected protocol
The distances, splits, and mechanics checkpoints chosen for the athlete’s goal
Timing-gate results
Every recorded attempt, phase split, total time, and consistency finding
Multi-angle findings
Side, front, rear, or angled views reviewed together—not as isolated clips
Joint-overlay frames
Key positions marked to make mechanical findings clear and visible
Top 3 priorities
The highest-impact corrections for this athlete
Action plan
Recommended drills, training path, and measurable retest goals
Price & registration
The complete baseline analysis is $75.
The $75 baseline is built around the athlete’s actual running demands. Distance runners can be captured through repeated full-stride cycles at an appropriate training pace so Tenacity can examine posture, rhythm, hip extension, knee recovery, foot strike, ground contact, left-to-right symmetry, efficiency, and what changes as fatigue develops. Sprinters and field athletes can be tested through the acceleration and speed phases that matter to their sport. Every evaluation includes athlete-specific protocol selection, objective timing where useful, multiple camera angles, slow-motion mechanics review, 2D joint-position overlays when they clarify a finding, and a detailed written report. The fee is waived when the athlete registers for an eight-week Tenacity training program.
